Remix Cuba

This album is a journey through time. Never before has the mixture of a conga, the son, the bolero, the traditional trova, and the feeling, had been combined with electronic timbres in such peculiar remixes. Nor had they converged in the same site a whole showcase of the newest generation of djs and artists of the alternative contemporary scene, with repertoire, sonorities and iconic voices of Cuban musical history.

Remix Cuba, transits from the past to the present, points to the future and returns to reveal emerging artists who are they have made their own space within the contemporary music scene. They come together in this amalgamation of sounds that evoke Havana nights of playful pleasures and “victrola” sounds through artists Cubans of pop, funk, hip hop and jazz, seasoned with voices like that of Oscar Valdés and Beatriz Márquez.

The timbres of the producer DJs that make up the album, mix dissimilar styles of Electronica, and transit by different styles: EDM, Moombahton, House, Disco, Afrohouse, Afrobeat. Between these doorbells seep vintage sounds of victrolas, pianos and vinyl playing as part of the concept of music production of a classic vintage style. All this is turned into songs like "Juana 1600" where virtuosity is exalted explosive by Irakere, “Sabes bien” that revives the romanticism of the emblematic vocal quartet Los Zafiros in the voice and rapping by Jotabarrioz, in “Santiago de Cuba” this musical city is highlighted and brings back the great Benny Moré with the flow of Super Ruso and Lenier Waño. Each theme immerses us in a mood of nostalgia for other times of splendor of Cuban music, wrapped in the urban and seductive sounds of the present.
